DIRECTIONS TO FRESH* SHEETS BED AND BREAKFAST IN DUBROVNIK, CROATIA

The Old Town of Dubrovnik is completely pedestrian and not accessible by public vehicles. This is part of its charm but can also come as quite a surprise. Taxis, airport transfers, and public buses will drop you off at one of the three main gates to town. From any of the gates, it is no more than a ten minute walk to the Bed and Breakfast.

Finding your way to our Bed and breakfast in Dubrovnik is not so difficult. Fortunately, we are located next to several major landmarks and two of the most famous piazzas. However, to make your life easier, we highly recommend that you print these step by step directions. Also, please note that street names in the Old Town are often not very useful or well marked.

ARRIVAL:
Whether you arrive to Dubrovnik by boat, bus, plane, bicycle, ferry, or foot, you’ll want to head to the Old Town.

BY CAR:
Dubrovnik is not a great place for vehicles. Donkeys, yes. Cars, no. If you plan to rent a car upon arrival, we’d highly recommend that you reconsider. Order a city pick-up on your departure date. Not only will you save a lot of money on parking but it will be much less stress. If you already have a car and plan to drive, the Old Town is totally pedestrian, so your only real option is to park in one of the city parking lots or on the street. It’s expensive. Rates range between 200-250 HRK / Day.  Your best option for parking is the public parking garage located @ 15 minute walk from the Old City gates. It is probably cheaper and safer than parking on the street where the city police are renowned for ticketing and towing cars. When you drive into Dubrovnik, you can’t miss it. There is a very very large sign. We’d recommend that you drop off your luggage first, just continue along the road until you come to one of the gates of the Old Town (there’s a cafe where the Keeper of Luggage can wait while having a nice coffee, beer, and view. The driver will then curse the tour buses, loop back, and park. From the parking garage, you can take a bus or walk to the main gates. The instructions for finding the bed and breakfast from the main gate are listed below.

FERRY/BUS:
Passenger boats and buses arrive to the port of Gruz in Dubrovnik. The Old Town is a 10 to 20 minute drive away (depending on traffic). To get to the Old Town, you can either take a taxi (@60-75 KUNA) or ride the public bus (15 KUNA). If you buy your bus ticket from the newspaper kiosk, it is cheaper. Hop on either the 1A or 1B ‘Pile Gate’ bus. Once you get to the Old Town, enter through Pile Gate (main entrance).

AIRPORT:
Upon arrival, your cheapest option is to take an airport shuttle (@35 KUNA) which picks up passengers outside the arrival hall and drops you off just outside Pile Gate (main entrance to the Old Town). Airport taxis are available as well (@250 KUNA). The taxi line is next to the shuttle bus. If no taxis are available, you can request one from the information desk.
